My Virtual School

It is so exciting to think of the endless possibilities to come as education continues to evolve. As I started thinking about starting my own school I wanted to research what was already offered. Watch this video to see one example of a virtual school here in California.

Towards the end of that video the parent of the student Laura said that this type of learning is not for everyone but works for her daughter. So I continued my research and found this website that not only offers a virtual High School, they also offers a virtual Elementary and Middle School. Check out what the Florida Virtual School has to offer. After you have finished exploring the website click here.

Here are some products I would give students to use... (now I'm dreaming big!!!)

There are numerous software programs and accessories that I would love to provide students but I am sure that its not in my virtual budget.

  1. Nicely done. You really put some good research and thinking into this project. I like the idea of the hybrid experience where students progress to a mixed situation with face to face and online classes. I think the hybrid situation also accounts for the need for social interaction. I can see a school where students came to have PE and band or other enrichment type electives, and then went into a lab, or home for other classes. Students would have that valuable interaction and elective experiences, but then also benefit from the online environment when it is appropriate.

    Good Work!
